By uniting experts, institutions, and advocates, we work to secure funding, influence policy, and support the next generation of clinical and translational researchers. Our mission is to ensure that groundbreaking discoveries move efficiently from the lab to real-world applications, improving healthcare and saving lives. Through advocacy, education, and collaboration, CCTS amplifies the voice of the research community to drive meaningful progress in medical science.

The Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS) was founded in 2009 to support the needs of the Clinical and Translational Science Awards (CTSA) program. ACTS currently represents nearly 6,000 members who are involved in academic intuitions, industry, philanthropic agencies and government. ACTS is committed to advancing the discipline of clinical and translational science with which it relates to improving human health.

The Clinical Research Forum, founded in 1996, provides a platform for senior clinical research leaders to discuss challenges in academic health and science systems. Since that time, it has convened experts annually to share best practices, engage in policy dialogues, and advocate nationally for clinical research. Its growing support network includes top academic health centers, nonprofits, industry leaders, and government partners, working collaboratively to advance the field. CR Forum is the home of the annual Top 10 Clinical Research Achievement Awards, celebrating outstanding accomplishments in clinical and translational science

Safe Pregnancies for Moms in Alabama

A groundbreaking national study led by the University of Alabama Birmingham shows that treating mild chronic hypertension during pregnancy improves outcomes for both mothers and babies, reducing risks like severe preeclampsia and preterm birth. The findings from the CHAP trial, published in The New England Journal of Medicine, provide the first clear, evidence-based guidance for safely managing high blood pressure in pregnancy.

Diagnosing Rare Diseases Early in Massachusetts

A national study led by Tufts Medical Center found that whole genome sequencing (WGS) is nearly twice as effective as targeted testing in diagnosing genetic disorders in newborns and infants.
